Gua Sha and Ice Globes Facials

Well this was such a lovely way to spend a Sunday. A surprisingly packed train at 8.30 on a Sunday got me to Hither Green where Karen Hastings delivers courses for Gateway. Karen is an excellent tutor and a really lovely person, I definitely recommend her if you are into this kind of training.
There were six of us on the course and by the end of the day we were great friends! This often happens on massage courses as students spend their time trying out new skills on each other - often in a state of undress :)
The treatment is lovely and can be offered as a stand alone or elements can be combined into other facial treatments. If stand alone it starts with a double cleanse then a very relaxing neck, shoulder and face massage, then the chilled gua sha tools are used with lots of manual lymphatic drainage strokes. The ice globes are - surprise surprise - cold! Very refreshing on a cold day! And finally a scalp massage. i was definitely dozing off by the end but I woke up happy when I realised the amazing difference the treatment had made to my forehead! Lines were undeniably reduced which was brilliant.
After the course, as I am originally a South Londoner, I went to meet a couple of old school friends and, as always, it was fabulous to see them! By the time I got back to Hastings at 10pm I was tired by very happy after an all round good day :)
